Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement
Managed Mental Health is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.
Managed Mental Health (MMH) is committed to providing equal and meaningful access to mental and behavioral health services for people with disabilities, individuals with limited English proficiency, older adults, and others who may need communication or accessibility assistance. This commitment applies across MMH locations, programs, in-person care, telehealth, scheduling, intake, clinical services, billing communications, this website, and other patient-facing technology, regardless of insurance or payment source.
What assistance may be available
- Reasonable changes to policies, procedures, scheduling, check-in, paperwork, or other processes when needed for equal access.
- Qualified sign-language interpreters, video remote interpreting, real-time captioning, assistive listening services, relay services, and other communication aids.
- Accessible written and electronic formats, which may include large print, audio, Braille when appropriate, readable electronic documents, or reading assistance.
- Mobility access measures, use of mobility devices, accessible areas, and relocation of services to an accessible area when appropriate.
- Individualized support for cognitive, intellectual, developmental, neurological, or psychiatric disabilities, such as extra processing time, simpler explanations, written follow-up, or an appropriate support person.
- Language assistance for individuals with limited English proficiency, including qualified telephone, video, or in-person interpreters and translated materials when required.
- Reasonable accessibility support for telehealth, online scheduling, electronic forms, patient portals, and other patient-facing technology.
- No charge for required assistance. Auxiliary aids, qualified interpreters, language assistance, and other accessibility services are provided without charge when required by applicable law.
How to request assistance
You may tell MMH staff about an accessibility or communication need during scheduling, registration, intake, a clinical visit, or at any other point in your care. You do not need to use specific legal words such as "ADA," "accommodation," or "reasonable modification." Staff should ask what assistance you need rather than make assumptions.
Interpreters, service animals, and privacy
MMH will not require a patient to bring a family member or friend to serve as an interpreter when MMH is legally responsible for providing qualified assistance, and minor children will not routinely be used as interpreters. Service animals are permitted in patient and public areas as required by law. Accessibility services are provided in a way that protects patient privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and independent decision-making.
Our conformance target
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more usable for everyone.
Why this matters for our website
Managed Mental Health accepts Medicare and Medicaid. As a result, we are subject to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Section 504 rule, which requires healthcare providers' websites and mobile apps to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA by a deadline set under 45 CFR § 84.84. We are building to the Level AA standard now, ahead of that deadline.
Current measured status
This statement reflects an automated and manual accessibility audit of every page of this website, run on 2026-07-28 using axe-core (an industry-standard automated testing tool) together with real-browser keyboard and screen-reader-structure checks (heading order, skip links, focus visibility, and mobile-menu keyboard behavior). That audit found zero automated violations and zero structural or keyboard issues across all 36 pages tested (English and Spanish).
Automated testing tools like axe-core are estimated to catch roughly 30–40% of real-world accessibility barriers. A clean automated result is meaningful evidence of progress — it is not a certification of full conformance, and we do not represent it as one. The full audit report, including the specific checks performed and the exceptions below, is available on request by contacting us using the information at the bottom of this page.
Known exceptions
We believe in being direct about what is not yet finished, rather than claiming a standard we haven't fully met. As of this statement, we know of two open items:
- Video captions — our "5 Minutes of Calm" guided relaxation videos are published on this site and do not yet have captions or a text transcript. This is a known gap against WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 (Level A), and we are working on it. In the meantime, if you would like the content of any video in another form, contact us using the details below and we will provide it.
- Contact form — our contact form is live and has been tested for labels, error messages, keyboard operation, and screen-reader support. Two items are still being improved: when a required choice (office or preferred language) is missed, focus does not move to it automatically, and required fields are not yet marked as required to assistive technology. You can always reach us by phone instead, using the numbers below.
Reporting an accessibility barrier
If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier on this website, please let us know. Please tell us the web address (URL) of the page, and describe the problem you experienced — the more detail you can share, the faster we can look into it. You can reach us by email or by phone using the details in the next section, whichever is easier for you, and ask for Administration, Compliance, or the Section 1557/Accessibility Coordinator.
Accessibility concerns may involve physical access, interpreters, communication assistance, reasonable modifications, service animals, language access, telehealth, or this website. MMH prohibits retaliation against anyone who requests assistance, files a complaint, participates in a grievance, or exercises protected civil-rights rights.
Alternative ways to reach us
If a barrier on this website is preventing you from getting the information you need, you do not have to rely on the website alone. You can reach us by email at [email protected], by phone at our Hialeah office, (786) 233-6721, or our Plantation office, (954) 666-5942.
